Visual science, latent heat (38/38) The energy that is input and required to alter the state from liquid to vapor at constant temperature is called the latent heat of vaporization. When a liquid gets vaporized at the normal boiling point the temperature of the liquid will not rise above the temperature of the boiling point. Latent heat also refers to the amount of energy released when the vapor gets condensed back to a liquid.
