The board bends to the lowest point, the board pauses it's at static equilibrium, this strain energy is then released and converting back into kinetic as the board moves up you are sent up with the board. You and the board travel upwards, by way of your momentum that has been conveyed to you by your kinetic energy. You ascend up in the air due to your momentum, until your kinetic energy plummets becoming gravitational potential energy, producing the driving force to attract you back down and into the water. The board its self could only travel so far up until its stiffness returned it, bringing it back down this time not so far, it moves up and down and so on vibrating in place becoming virtually still again.
